Updated Vintage Dresser in Navy...
Totally vintage dresser probably from the 80s.
The hardware I didn't care for, amazing because
usually the hardware is missing. I just think
this dresser needed updating, so the hardware had to go.
Here is the before below.
Top was very worn. Here is what I used to update it.
I wanted to add some feet to lift it.
Then new hardware. I picked a beautiful navy color
and used the Behr chalk paint.
I've used this chalk paint before and love it.
Took off all the hardware, it was alot....
12 total.
I had to seal in the old hardware holes, then add the feet
with some reinforcement wood.
Took about 2 hours to put all those new handles on.
Sealed the chalk paint in General Finishes High Performance Flat.
Which is a matte sealer.
Feet went really well with the design of this.
This dresser is 100% solid wood, not pressed wood too.
Heavy thick wood too.

Antique Vanity Updated Into Nightstands...
This was a antique vanity before.
I was going to repair it and sell as one
when I bought it. Although, it was missing pieces.
Plus, I really started liking them as
nightstands.
Before below.
I removed the mirrors, some needed replacing anyways.
Removed the poles and the top backsplash.
Repaired all the loose veneer.
Which was a lot.
I painted them in a distressed black.
Used general finishes lamp black.
Sealed in high performance flat sealer.
Then added new black knobs.
SOLD!
French Provincial in Stained French Linen...
I love how beautiful this french dresser is.
The hardware is amazing. Very sturdy and thick
with beautiful detail. The style is has clean lines.
Not too curvy.
Before below.
It did need some repair on some scratches
in some areas.
I painted it in annie sloan french linen.
With some rubbed distress very lightly on
edges.
Sealed the body in a matte wax.
I polished the handles and hardware very little.
I wanted to show some original natural patina.
Look at that hardware though?!
It has 8 drawers total.
I wanted to original wood in the design.
But was not feeling the stained top look
on this particular one.
I decided to stain refinish the middle area.
I stained it in dark walnut. Then sealed
that part in a flat poly.

Directorie Dresser in Hale Navy....
Part 2 of one of wonderful clients. Her home was flooded in Harvey.
Ruined her pieces we had furnished and custom painted for her 2
years ago. Here was the original one we found and painted for her.
Same color benjamin moore hale navy. Then added a water
based gloss sealer. Polished hardware. We searched for weeks for the
exact piece and couldn't find it. Did find one up north in Michigan,
but she wouldn't ship. Plus she was selling the whole bedroom set.
She then fell in love with this one I had in my
inventory for a few years.
We stripped it.
Then i primed it and painted it hale navy.
Then glossed it.
She purchased the hardware. We had to seal in the old hardware holes.
She loved it! How could you not it looks beautiful!
Plus with our custom finish...come on look at those
close ups 👀😲😍
French Executive Gray Desk...
One of our previous clients home was flooded
during Harvey. We had done a few pieces for her
last year and they where destroyed.
Here is the desk we had previously furnished & custom
painted for her last year that was destroyed.
So we both searched and she found this one below.
I went to pick it up for her and she waited patiently till
I could get to her order. She wanted it the same color
as the previous one I did.
Stripped.
Primed.
Painted in Restoration Hardware Graphite.
Done in a clean finish, then sealed in a matte
sealer.
Hardware kept in original condition.
Looks beautiful! Even though her pieces where destroyed
by mother nature, they can be replaced. So thankful her family and herself
made it out safely 💗
Next post will be the dresser that we furnished
and custom painted for her, as her other dresser was destroyed.
Duck Egg Blue Aged Pulaski Lowboy Chest....
We found this really nice pulaski lowboy chest. I repaired
some loose veneer on top and added some
knobs to go with the original hardware.
Before below..
I decided to paint it in Annie Sloan duck egg blue.
Aged it in certain areas.
Distressed just the edges.
I didn't hand paint it, I sprayed it with my hvlp gun.
Nice and smooth.
Really cute for a nursery, entry way piece, or the kitchen!
French White Baby Blue Dresser..
One of our many wonderful repeat clients came to us
and picked another dresser we had
in our inventory. Then she wanted us to custom paint it.
Here is the french provincial dresser she picked
from our inventory. This is in it's factory finish pictured below.
We stripped it down to the bare wood, this was a
very hard finish to get off. Three thick layers, primer,
paint, glaze, and the sealer. We take everything off, even the inner parts along
where the drawers sit...I've heard of people
using only soap and water or tsp to
wipe off previous waxes. Then they paint over that with primer.
We don't do that, we strip it down completely for our latex finish,
no light sanding with a 220 sandpaper either.
It's hard work, but it's a durable finish. That's why my clients come
back to me. Plus, it's a awesome finish at that.
We do this with milk and sometimes chalk paint,
depending on the look we are asked to do.
Next, we primed it, then painted
it with our favorite latex paint.
Benjamin Moore.
She wanted it distressed lightly on the edges...
I painted the inner surface of the drawers baby blue and distressed that some.
Handles left original....
That paint isn't going no where. It was work just to distress
it, couldn't get to the wood the finish is so durable.
All my pieces I custom paint are like that though.
Just beautiful!
Elegant Clean Look for Soft Gray Dresser.......
I had this triple drawer dresser in my
inventory for some time about a year.
Pulled it out and went to work on it.
Here is the before...I removed the big handles
and the backplate/knob on the middle cabinet door
Stripped it down to bare wood, nice smooth sanding job
sealed in all the holes from the handles and nail holes
primed it and painted it a soft gray by Ben Moore
called nightingale
went on a search for the perfect knobs....
antiqued the backplates decor on the top drawers
and cabinet drawer hinges
Looks way better then the before.
An elegant clean look.
