Updated Vintage Dresser to Modern Style...
New client inherited her late grandmothers dresser
and wanted it updated for her new little bundle of joy.
She will be due very soon and put this order in 3 months ago.
I was booked like we usually are and she waited patiently.
Here is the before below.
She purchased new hardware and wanted the middle
cabinet door off.
She wanted the top stained to match her crib frame
and the body painted a clean no distress white.
We used Benjamin Moore Ultra White.
Amazing what a professional paint job
and some redesigning can do.
She also wanted the old hinge holes sealed in which we did.
Stained top and sealed in a semi gloss water
based sealer.
Everything done in a no brush stroke finish
as always.
Our finish is smooth to the touch and applied
properly.
Here is the handles she picked. We only had one at the time.
Looks amazing!
Here it is in her nursery after we delivered it.
She was "over the moon obsessed with it".
Her words 😍
White Updated Rustic Dresser......
I was working on this piece last month that I
got for free from a client. I didn't like the previous hardware, so
I replaced it with new handles.
While I was working on it along with a custom client order
that was being painted the same color (multitasking!)
I received a message from a new follower.
She wanted a previous dresser I had just sold a few hours
before. She asked if I would be painting anything
in that same style & color...I said yes and showed
her this one I was working on.
Here is the before below.
Sanded it down. Then primed it.
I showed her this picture of the handles I was putting on them.
I also showed her the before with the original handles.
She loved the look I was going for all she wanted was the hardware
painted silver.
Here it is painted in white using Benjamin Moore paint.
No distress I thought it looked better without it.
I liked the clean look on this particular dresser.
Here it is in her home, she loved it!
Raw Natural Look French Dresser....
This is the before below on a french dresser made by Davis Furniture Co.
I was initially going to paint it but because we strip
most of our pieces before we paint them.
But once it was stripped and sanded down I just couldn't paint
it. The wood was to beautiful. It wasn't a veneer overlay
either. This was solid carved wood. I did replace that hideous hardware though.
Stripped and sealed in the old handle holes.
I didn't stain it, just sealed it with a water based sealer.
Painted the hardware iron steel which is a matte
slightly dark gray with some metallic in it.
This piece was sold a few days ago.
. I finished it at the beginning of
last month, but didn't have time to post on my blog.
Redesigned French Dresser....
Painted this french provincial country
dresser in white, distressed edges, and refinished
the top in dark walnut.
I pulled off the old hardware...didn't like it.
Then I added some vintage french handles I had
in my hardware inventory.
Got the cabinet pull new though.
Sealed the top in gf high performance no brush stroke finish.
Smooth no brush stroke finish on body.
Love this knob.
Painted hardware in oil rubbed bronze.
Looks much better with the french hardware.
Sealed in all the old hardware holes with our high quality putty.
We don't use Bondo or wood filler. All that shrinks
with age and eventually comes off or chips off.
Ours doesn't.
Looks beautiful 💓💖
Available. message for more info.
Navy Aged Chest Of Drawers......
We had this chest of drawers for about 3 years in our inventory.
I was waiting to paint it when I had some extra time.
This was the before below.
It had these older handles on it.
I painted it in Annie Sloan chalk paint.
I customized this color to a navy blue.
Aged it with no distress.
Added new hardware to go with the lines
of the chest,
Smooth no brush strokes finish.
I spray the paint on with my hvlp gun
I don't hand paint it. It's more expensive
in materials, but I love the look.
Oh my goodness, I'm totally in love.....
Redesigned Updated Dresser.....
A new client found us online in a group on facebook.
She loved our work and my design for pieces I custom
paint and put up for sale.
She fell in love with this dresser below I had painted and
put up for sale last month. It sold to another new client.
She had this dresser already that was her daughter's.
She wanted us to seal in the hole and make new ones
for the new hardware she bought. So we sealed in the
holes and added new ones.
Here is the picture I sent her after we finished
that part. I wanted to show her how it looked.
She loved it.
Then we stripped the top to get all the damage from
years of use. Nice and smooth.
She wanted me to paint it like the other dresser I had done above.
She loved the design so much.
So here it is all updated!
I used Annie Sloan chalk paint in a custom color
I made.
She loved it!
