Updated Vintage Dresser in Navy...
Totally vintage dresser probably from the 80s.
The hardware I didn't care for, amazing because
usually the hardware is missing. I just think
this dresser needed updating, so the hardware had to go.
Here is the before below.
Top was very worn. Here is what I used to update it.
I wanted to add some feet to lift it.
Then new hardware. I picked a beautiful navy color
and used the Behr chalk paint.
I've used this chalk paint before and love it.
Took off all the hardware, it was alot....
12 total.
I had to seal in the old hardware holes, then add the feet
with some reinforcement wood.
Took about 2 hours to put all those new handles on.
Sealed the chalk paint in General Finishes High Performance Flat.
Which is a matte sealer.
Feet went really well with the design of this.
This dresser is 100% solid wood, not pressed wood too.
Heavy thick wood too.
SOLD!
Before/After!
Navy Aged Chest Of Drawers......
We had this chest of drawers for about 3 years in our inventory.
I was waiting to paint it when I had some extra time.
This was the before below.
It had these older handles on it.
I painted it in Annie Sloan chalk paint.
I customized this color to a navy blue.
Aged it with no distress.
Added new hardware to go with the lines
of the chest,
Smooth no brush strokes finish.
I spray the paint on with my hvlp gun
I don't hand paint it. It's more expensive
in materials, but I love the look.
Oh my goodness, I'm totally in love.....
Hollywood Regency Painted Navy Blue.....
This was a furnished and custom painted
order. A client picked this from our inventory
and wanted it to blend in
with her newly decorated living room area.
So we decided on a navy blue,
Then she wanted silver hardware to match her
silver pieces in her living room area also.
Here is the before....
We sanded it down and repaired the front missing veneer...
Primed it and painted it navy blue with multiple coats....
painted the hardware silver and it looks beautiful
with the navy...
that line is from the camera lens....
look at my s-m-o-o-t-h finish....
Wow, we really made this look awesome!!!
All finished and looking so gorgeous!!!!
Navy Blue Mediterranean Dresser.......
Well, here is a furnished and custom painted
piece we did for a client.
She had a tough decision on which piece
she wanted from our inventory.
She finally decided on this one :)
So this is how it was before.
Handles where tarnished a lot.
We stripped it all down, primed it,
then I painted it with multiple coats of
the navy blue color she picked.
When my clients come to me I ask them to choose
from the wide selection of colors
from the best
paint that I love....
BENJAMIN MOORE!
Polished the handles which where solid brass...
they polished very nice I think.
She wanted it in a high gloss also....
So we applied the high gloss.....
Love our flat finish!!!!
Painted the inside also.....
High glossed the inside also....
There it is all gorgeous and navy blue with polished handles
and a high gloss just like she wanted :)
Italian Provincial Dresser Painted Navy Blue...........
We furnished and custom painted this
Italian Provincial Dixie Dresser
for a client who wanted it in
her nursery to match a custom
made quilt she purchased.
So we decided on this navy blue color.
Then she wanted to distressed on edges
like I do with most of my pieces.
So here is the before...
Some veneer missing...
Sanded it down then added a bazillion
coats of the navy paint....
distressed the edges....
this was the part that was missing the veneer...
can't even tell such a smooth repair job...
polished the hardware...
had to show close up's of my flat finish....
This bottom 2 pictures is the true color.
So beautiful! I am soooo totally
in love with this color!!!!!
Headboard, Mirror, Navy Blue, Gray Mantel....
This was a custom order. A client contacted me
from my blog and wanted us to paint
these pieces for her.
mantel, headboard, and mirror.
She wanted the mantel to be a color
on her comforter she just bought.
So I suggested a lighter gray.
That way it would go with her decor in case
she ever changed it.
Here is the mantel before we stripped it down.
Then primed and painted.
She wanted us to seal in all the staple holes
that where previously there.
Then she had us do this beautiful Mediterranean mirror!
She wanted this to match a new comforter
also she had just bought.
So I suggested a navy blue.
She loved that idea on color :)
We primed and painted this the navy blue....
We always take out the mirrors....
you don't want to be sloppy with mirrors
because you have to look at them so much :)
Here is the headboard....
we primed and painted it the navy blue.....
Here they all are completed!
She really loved them :)
