Vintage Updated China Cabinet without the Hutch...
I loved how unique and gorgeous this buffet was.
It was a china cabinet but didn't like the hutch.
The hutch sat inside of it. Before above. I was going to keep the
original hardware , but when I was taking them off one broke.
I decided to replace the hardware with the ones shown below.
Added a plank top.
Painted it in Joanna Gaines Magnolia
chalk paint in Regal Leaf. A beautiful forest green.
All in a clean finish. I didn't think any distressing would
compliment this piece at all.
Stained the plank in a custom mix of driftwood and provincial.
I wanted a lighter more natural tone without too much yellow.
We added 6 new wood feet to give it more height.
It was 27" high from the beginning. Now it's 32"high.
Also, extremely sturdy.
painted the inside cabinet also.
Didn't paint the side cabinet areas.
Sealed everything in a flat sprayed sealer.

Updated Vintage Dresser......
I was going to paint this vintage bassett dresser
in a shabby chic look and use the original hardware.
Well, changed my mind while painting it.
Before below.
I painted it in Magnolia chalk paint Ella Rose.
I love this soft pink color.
The older hardware I wasn't feeling once I painted it.
So, I went to the hardware store and purchased new ones.
Was trying to not spend too much on the hardware either.
But, I liked it so $4.98 a piece for 12...what can you do?
I purchased them, I had too.
Champagne gold hardware is beautiful!
Love the modern look it gives too!
Clean no distressed look.

Before above.
After below.
I painted the body in Joanna Gaines Magnolia
chalk paint color is Ella Rose.
A pale neutral pink with accents of peach.
Sealed body in a wax finish.
I stripped the drawers and refinished them in dark walnut.
Sealed the drawers in a semi gloss sealer.
Also refinished the legs in dark walnut

Beautiful French Dresser...
I've had this beautiful french dresser in my inventory
(along with a whole lot more dressers). Since I've decided to move
my customer orders to summer only...I'm
starting to get to the inventory I've had.
Finally going to start putting out pieces in my own design
for sale.
This particular one is made by Drexel in the Riviera
style. Here is the before below.
Had to fix 3 drawers because they where hard to open
and close. I always always make sure my pieces
go out in excellent working condition.
I didn't like that wave pattern on it at all.
So, I removed it.
It was nailed and glued on but came off somewhat
easy..ha ha!
Filled in the major scratches, not all because I wanted this
to be a farmhouse shabby chic look. I mean it's old
and vintage so might as well show it huh?
I had to prime it because it's cherry wood so bleed through!
Then I painted it in Joanna Gaines Magnolia
chalk paint color Shiplap.
It's a weathered white.
I don't make my chalk paint I just buy it. I don't really
care how expensive it is, if the quality is good I'm good.
I find making it leaves a rough grainy finish.
I love smooth finishes.
Distressed edges and left hardware in original condition.
I price my pieces I paint by my experience I have
and my work which is really
good. Plus the time I put into some of these, repairs, design,
materials, (paint is expensive), plus the age and style of the
piece.
Details are amazing!
Looks so much better without those wave patterns.

Mid Century Modern in Luxe...
We found this dresser in very very very used condition.
As you can see below.
Missing hardware pieces. Chipped veneer in
various places.
Formica top was okay.
More chipped veneer.
Sanded down after we sealed in those
chopped veneer pieces.
Sealed in the scratches on the sides.
I painted it in Luxe by
Joanna Gaines Magnolia Chalk Paint.
Its a green with gray undertones so it softens
the green so it's not so bright. Very neutral.
Changed out the hardware with some knobs I loved from
Hobby Lobby that they discounted :/
So I stained the bottom drawers and bottom base
in a dark walnut then sealed in a flat sealer.
This was my initial design I wanted.
Then I asked John to come see it.
He looks at it and says wow!
But how about we change it up some and he
put the bottom drawers in the middle.
I loved it! But I loved the bottom drawer look too!
Then he goes okay how about this...and puts the
stained drawers on the top!!
I was like oh my Gosh!! Please stop!!
I loved that too! I just couldn't decide.
I love all three looks!

Dresser Transformed into Media Center...
We picked this up at a thrift store, the middle cabinet
drawers where missing. One handle was broken.
It's made by Bassett.
Top was damaged.
I fell in love with the look so I had to get it.
We added wood slats to the top and I stained them
in dark walnut.
Repaired the broken handle.
I primed it white, then painted it in a beige color with gray undertones.
I used Magnolia Chalk Paint in the color Yarn.
Then I added wood slats to the middle compartment
where the drawers where missing.
Stained them dark walnut.
Also stained the outer drawers dark walnut to
make it all match and look like a wall.
Distressed edges.
Left hardware in it's natural vintage patina look.
Sealed the top and middle wood slats
in general finishes high performance flat sealer.
Looks amazing! I'm so in love with how beautiful
it turned out!

Antique Dresser in Mint Gray...
Client initially wanted my salmon pink french dresser
I had up a few months ago. But was undecided on color.
This is a birthday present for her little girl!
So she wanted a color that wasn't too overpowering
to match her curtains in the room.
Which had more pink in them.
Here is the before below.
She picked this from my inventory.
It needed work as you can see which is why it
I didn't have it listed..
So it took us a few weeks to repair.
She decided on Ellie's Room by Magnolia!
Distressed edges.
Her daughter wanted some new knobs which look adorable!
Looks amazing!
Cabbage Rose Henry Link Chest...
I actually got this matching Henry Link
set in a few months ago.
I painted the 6 drawer dresser in this color
which is Magnolia cabbage rose.
Distressed edges and painted hardware
gold. The client who purchased the six
drawer wanted to know if I had
any chest of drawers available to match.
Crazy right?! I sent her this picture below.
She LOVED it and said to paint
it exactly to match the six drawer.
Came out beautiful!
French Salmon Pink Dresser....

Deep Blue French Dresser...
Found this french chest of drawers in a resale shop.
I was intentionally going to use only the
hardware. I just couldn't. So, I updated it.
Here is the before below.
Needed some drawer repair.
We did that and now it's in fully working order.
I sanded most of it down
and cleaned it up.
I painted it in some new chalk paint
I wanted to try out.
It's Magnolia by Joanna Gaines
in the color silos district.
My verdict on the paint, it's like any other
chalk paint out there. Only problem is
they mix it before you order it. So, it took about a week
in a half to get it. Mind you I live in Humble, TX.
That's 20 mins outside Houston, TX.
It adheres well and distresses good.
I did do 4 coats though. First coat coverage
was good, but I wanted a more even
coverage.
I added some gray and white stripped
paper to the back. This piece did have a missing drawer.
Then we added some wood pieces to the sides
and bottom to make a shelf.
I stained and sealed those.
Distressed some areas on edges. Not too over the top though.
Hardware I cleaned up and kept the white in
the creases of the handles to go with
some of the white from distressing.
To make give it a little more, I added the striped
paper to the inside drawers.
Sealed everything in a flat finish.
It's all smooth and durable.
Love this!
Would look amazing in a childs/tweens room.
