Customer Order..Dorian Gray Italian Provincial Dresser
I started up customer orders on a case to case basis.
I had stopped for 10 months to get some of my
own pieces out for sale. Plus, started a new format on how I will be
taking customer orders now too.
This was her husbands childhood dresser that he had
since he was 5 year sold!
They wanted it in Dorian Gray with a dark stained top.
Before above. Had some veneer damage on one of the drawers and top
corner side.
We repaired all the missing chipped veneer.
Sanded it down.
Stripped the top.
Primed it.
Stained the top in Kona.
It came out beautiful with all that grain showing.
Painted in Dorian Gray.
She wanted to keep the original hardware.
I think it was an excellent choice too.
Top coated everything in a satin sealer.
Looks amazing! Her husband was so happy with the outcome too!
Mid Century Modern Emphasis Buffet.....
Broyhill made amazing mid century furniture back in the 70s.
I just love the Broyhill mid century modern in the Emphasis line.
How the whole legs are built in...then sculpted all the way down...
gorgeous!
Most mid century modern have the screwed in base. I mean love those too!
These just have a design to them that has detail but not too much.
Here is the before below. It didn't have the original wood sculpted
handles. Most where broken or totally gone.
We filled in the carved out wood from the original hardware.
Then I painted the drawers black.
Added new modern hardware in aged brass.
Then I added some pop to the cabinet area.
Matte black vine wallpaper with yellow birds.
Cleaned up the wood finish with some dark walnut stain.
Sealed everything in a semi gloss sealer.

Mid Century Modern Painted....
Had this dresser for some time now. I'd say a few years?
It wasn't taken care of, I knew it would have to be painted.
Those top stains were horrible.
So, we stripped it down.
Stains didn't go away. I knew they wouldn't.
Repaired some chips and loose veneer.
Primed.
I decided to paint it in black bamboo.
Then I added new champagne gold modern knobs.
Sealed in a semi gloss sealer.
Stained the bottom legs in dark walnut.

Italian Provincial In Dorian Gray....
Had this Italian Provincial highboy for 3 years. The dresser I sold as is.
This one had missing hardware. So, I couldn't list it as is.
I finally have time to get to my project pieces now that I've
discontinued my customer orders. Yay!!
Before above and below.
Stripped it down and sealed in the old hardware holes.
We made new holes for the new hardware.
After I primed it, I painted it in Dorian Gray.
I purchased new modern hardware in aged bronze.
I had to get smaller hardware for the top
4 drawers and larger for the bottom 2 drawers.
Coin shelf is removable.

Black Antique Aged China Cabinet.......
I had this antique china cabinet made by Rockford Furniture in
my inventory since the beginning of the year. I listed it in the very good as is condition.
As you can see above. It did't sell as is.
So I removed the glass cabinet doors on the front.
Keeping the doors and will be painting them soon.
Sealed in the punch locks on the bottom and top that locked the door in place.
I painted it in black and distressed the edges.
Sealed in a sprayed flat sealer.
Kept hardware original.
Shelves are all removable. Top doesn't detach though, it's all one piece.

Mid Century Modern Restoration on Dresser....
This was the matching mid century dresser that
went with the previous highboy dresser and single nightstand we
also restored last week.
Although, both of those sold already.
Anyway, here is the before on this vintage mcm
made by United Furniture.
It had lots of wear on top.
John stripped it all down. We also stripped the wood handles too.
I stained it all in dark walnut.
Sealed in a semi gloss sheen.

Vintage United Mid Century Modern Dresser Restored...
I could've listed this as is if it didn't have so much
damage and wear.
Before above, it looks good from the pictures.
Top looked like they tried to sand it down but
sanded it wrong. See the scraps going horizontal.
The top back edge needed veneer repair we had to fill that in.
Two of the interior middle drawer bottoms
where thin a brittle.
See the top looked bad.
We repaired everything, added new interior drawer bottoms to
the middle drawers.
Then stripped everything.
Removed the wood handles. Stripped those.
Added a new wood back. The old back was worn.
I stained it all in dark walnut.
Sealed everything in a semi gloss sprayed sealer.
I even stained the back and sealed that also.
I don't usually do this but I it was a new board.

Then, during, and after.
Restored Broyhill Mcm Dresser....
I actually have the matching chest in the previous post.
Rare Broyhill Mid Century Modern Dresser
in the Accent line.
Before above and below.
We did a full restoration on this. Had more damage
than I felt comfortable with.
Chips on the back from the mirror (which has sold).
Chipped veneer on sides.
Chipped and split on top corner.
We stripped it all down after repairs.
Wood is a different on the middle drawers
and cabinet doors. So the stain came out darker.
I use full stain and don't mess with toners. Too much time
to work with that and I would have to charge higher on my price.
Not going to do that, not worth it to me.
Repaired cracks.
I stained in dark walnut.
This has 12 drawers total.
Sealed in water based sprayed semi gloss.
Painted hardware gold, remember it was silver.
Gold looks way better. Silver looked too office type.
I love the darker middle wood, it sets it apart from the rest.

Broyhill Mid Century Modern Highboy Dresser....
Restored this vintage 1967 Broyhill
Mid Century Modern Highboy Dresser.
It's from the Accent line. Rare and hard to
find piece/ I was going to just clean it up.
Before above and below.
But it had more damage than I thought.
A clean up wouldn't have helped at all.
If it was just minor finish issues, yeah a clean up would work.
But chipped veneer and large chips..we had to restore.
So, I decided to do a full restoration on it.
We repaired all the damaged areas.
Missing veneer, bent split top edges.
Worn finish on top.
Stripped after repaired.
Then I stained it in dark walnut.
Painted hardware in gold because I didn't
like the silver original color. Gold just pops
against dark walnut.
Sealed in a semi gloss water based sprayed
sealer.
Purchased new gold screws to match the gold.
Remember the originals where silver.

Updated Antique Buffet...
This is a customers piece. She wanted her antique buffet
painted white.
She also wanted the decor in the middle removed.
John came up with the idea to flip it.
She also wanted repairs on the chipping veneer on each
side of the buffet.
We repaired the sides along with other areas we
seen that needed attention.
Tighten the top of the buffet because it was loose.
Sanded it all down, then primed it.
Painted in Benjamin Moore White.
Polished the tear drop pulls.
Sealed in a semi gloss sealer.
She didn’t want the inside painted.
Looks amazing!

United Mid Century Modern Dresser...
Got this vintage very wide mid century modern
dresser in a month ago. It had damage on top.
I knew it was going to be trouble getting it out.
It was. But it looks better than it did when we stripped the top.
Before above.
After below.
I matched the stain almost exact. Which I thought was
going to be the hardest part. Turned out it was the easiest!
Fully restored the top. Cleaned up the rest.
Then sealed everything in a semi gloss sprayed sealer.
Made by United. This brand is by far the best vintage
brand I noticed. The quality is amazing.
Everything is solid wood. They usually make longer
dressers too. This one is one of the longer ones.
At 74” wide.
Wood handles on cabinet doors and middle drawers.
The middle drawers are wide with smaller drawers
on the ends behind the gorgeous cabinet doors.
The top grain is so beautiful. The spot is still on the top.
But it’s not as bad as it was. It kinda goes with all
the natural wood patterns.
Has a very unique curved front design.
Sits on a wood frame with slayed out legs.
Awesome curved sides with thick long hinge
for the cabinet doors.

I had this antique french buffet for two years in
my inventory. It had a hutch that was removable.

Italian Provincial Updated in Black Bamboo..
I had purchased this dresser with a matching chest
of drawers. I was going to work on it eventually.
A customer wanted to come view a
restored mcm dresser I had done for her nursery.
She seen this one and wanted to know what my
plans where for it. I told her my design and she
wanted first dibs on it before I list.
Before above.
I removed the plastic decor pieces on the top drawers.
Sanded it all down because the original finish was chipping
and worn.
Sealed in all the holes from the plastic decor
and older hardware holes.
I had purchased new modern updated hardware for this one.
Added the new hardware holes.
I painted it in my new favorite color called
Black Bamboo. It looks darker in this picture.
It's more of a softer army green color. I love it!
Sealed in a sprayed flat sealer.
New antique bronze modern hardware.
Her and her husband loved it! So it was purchased, couldn't list it!
Before and after below.
Vintage Mid Century Modern in Navy....
I was planning on restoring this vintage BASSETT
mid century modern dresser. It needed some work.
I'm not one of those sellers that just cleans up
a piece and leaves chipped veneer
then lists it at a high prices.
I would feel so guilty for doing that.
It's getting absolutely ridiculous on some prices we see on
some damaged pieces.
We repair them, which we have learned from our years of doing this.
We work hard and this is why my work is higher than most.
Look at the picture below and above as these are the before.
Chipped veneer. We repair those, along with everything
else we see that needs attention. Yes, it takes time.
Yes, it's not an easy flip. Most vintage pieces are not I've learned
through my 10 years of doing this.
So, after we repair we strip it or sand it.
Stripped below though because I was planning on
restoring with stain.
Repaired veneer. We finished at the end of the day and I was about
to get to the staining the next morning.
But, a customer contacted me that night and
wanted to know if I had any mcm 6 drawer dressers.
I told her about this one I was working on.
Although, she wanted it painted navy.
I primed it the next day.
Then I painted it in latex Benjamin Moore old navy for her.
Sealed in a semi gloss sprayed sealer.
I suggested staining the legs in a dark walnut.
She loved that idea.
I'm so proud of our finishes. It isn't easy, it takes a lot of work.
I am up for the challenge every time. I want to be proud of what we put out.
Looks amazing...
It will be heading to it's new home in a few days!

Italian Provincial Modernized...
Well, this is another of my pieces I've had in my
fixer upper project inventory. I was going to keep
the vintage hardware.
Just replace the missing top knobs, but I decided
to do all new modern hardware.
I thought (and I was right) it would look better.
The before is below.
We repaired the missing chipped veneer on top
and everywhere needed.
Sealed in all the old hardware holes, except for the top
drawers.
Then sanded it all down.
I primed it all.
Added our new holes. I make sure that my holes
are always even. Plus I make sure that you can't see the older holes.
This is why my prices are higher.
We make sure we love it and are good with our work
before we list it.
We added the new holes on the cabinet doors.
I painted it in Benjamin Moore Old Navy.
Sealed in a semi gloss sprayed finish.
I purchased new antique brass modern hardware.
So proud of our work!
It looks absolutely freaking amazing!
This sold before I could even finish!
The customer had actually surprised his wife for
mother's day! What an amazing gift 💝

Vintage Italian Provincial Dresser in Queenstown Gray....
I was eventually going to work on this
vintage Italian provincial with mid century modern
straight lines. It was in the back of my inventory though.
So I couldn't get to it till I got to the one in the front.
I was going to do it a dark gray or navy.
One of my followers contacted me asking if I had
a particular piece in a certain look. I sent her a picture of this one.
She put down her deposit and I pulled it out.
Here is the before below.
It had some major wear on top.
We stripped it down.
Sealed in the major scratches and dents.
I primed it.
I gave her some colors to choose from and she chose
General Finishes Queenstown Gray.
Sealed in a semi gloss sealer.
We cleaned up the hardware to reveal a
beautiful brass gold.
It came out very beautiful!
Before/After below.
Outdated Vintage Buffet Made Modern...
I had found this vintage buffet a while back.
Was waiting to work on it once I finished all
my customer orders. Now, that I started limiting customers orders
I can start doing my project pieces.
I love doing my own pieces so much!
This buffet I didn’t like the plastic fronts.
Didn’t like the hardware.
Didn’t like the bottom skirt.
I first removed the skirt trim. Still didn’t like it.
So I removed the plastic front decor.
Then cut the wood fronts and sides on bottom.
After cutting it, I wanted some added layer
to the bottom. So we added more wood
trim just to the bottom underneath it.
We added some wood legs to each side.
Filled in all the holes from the plastic decor.
Also filled in the older handle holes.
I purchased new antique bronze modern hardware.
Removed the back because it had a hole in it.
Added a new back.
All prepped and I was loving it!
It was coming out just like I had envisioned.
Primed it gray, then painted it in
Benjamin Moore Chelsea Gray.
Added the new modern hardware.
I painted everything, all the inside cabinets areas.
Love it! So happy with the look!!

I had another set of some mid century modern legs
in my inventory too. So we added them to this chest!
Stripped, repaired and added the legs.
We removed the plastic recessed pulls too.
Stained in dark walnut.
Cleaned up and sealed the plastic recessed pulls.
Sealed everything in a semi gloss sprayed sealer.
