Updated Dresser Set in Light Grey.....
New client contacted me thru my blog and wanted us
to custom paint her childhood dresser set. She is expecting later this year
and wanted this in the nursery.
Here are the befores below.
She purchased the new hardware. Although, the hardware
was slanted. We went ahead and filled in all the holes
for the handles. Then made new ones so you wouldn't see a gap.
Look at these beautiful tops after we stripped them.
We sealed in all the dents.
Primed them.
We both decided on Nickel from Ben Moore.
She wanted a light to medium grey.
The hardware she picked really brought out the pieces.
She loved them!
Totally different from the before.
Grey Headboard Bench.....
This full size headboard was part of a bedroom set we had.
It had no footboard so we decided to make it into
a bench.
Here is the before below.
We have lots of furniture part in our inventory, so
I pulled out some beautiful ornate legs to add to the
front of the bench for legs.
I told John what I wanted and he went to work.
This is it below fully built before I painted it.
I stained the seat and sealed it with polycrylic.
I painted the rest a medium grey with annie sloan
chalk paint.
Antiqued it with no distress.
Painted the back also, just in case.
Extremely happy with the turnout 💓💓!!!
Currently available for sale.

over sized nightstand. It is a french style kind.
Has lot of detail, so I decided to bring that out....

I painted the body grey, then
I gilded it with gold on the details....
I aged the whole thing, body and drawers...
I added some gold gilding to the handles too...
painted the drawers a off white and aged them...
distressed all the edges....
This is the after....
I just really love how this turned out!

French Provincial Dresser Repaired and Painted.......
This one we found just totally not well cared for. The person we got it from said he was repairing it, but gave up. Goodness, they painted it numerous times. When we stripped it, we found they painted over the original cream white factory paint, then painted silver over that, then blue, and then the last was black. The veneer over it was peeled off and they applied plaster sheetrock over it and sealed in the middle drawers. The top was coming apart from the rest of it. We where going to do this as a custom, but she wanted a clean look and this was for a shabby chic look so we painted it now it's up for sale. Good thing it was solid wood :)
Here are some of the venner missing parts, plus you can see the paint colors...
more veneer pieces missing...
we took the top off, repaired what we seen was damaged....
they even painted the sides of the drawers....we stripped that also....
Now I am applying the primer....
these are the drawers after we stripped it...
Then I applied the light grey paint...
We fixed the veneer and smoothed it out....
I distressed the edges that popped out.....
found some hardware and painted them gold.....
Looks much better than before! Solid and sturdy too.
Highboy Dresser Chest Repaired & Painted Grey....
We had this for awhile, had it for sale but noone wanted to or knew how to repair it. I even lowered it to $20. So we finally got around to it. I squeezed it in with a custom order I was also working on.
The rail in the front that holds up the top drawer was off completely...
John repaired that...
It was missing rails on some of the drawers,
John repaired those. He put in wood rails to hold up the drawers and
cut some metal ones to place under the drawers....
I sanded it down to get most all the shine and some finsih off....
then painted it grey.....a lighter grey, not to dark...
then found some handles and painted them gold....
Has a secret 3 drawer to hide stuff in.....
wouldn't even know there is a drawer there!
Here is the finished, repaired, and fully working gorgous dresser chest!
Custom Light Grey with Brushed Gold Ornate End Table...
This was furnished and custom painted for one of our previous buyers, she wanted this to she wanted this to match her living room which had a area carpet in it with grey in it. I suggested to paint it grey and i could customize a grey for her to match her carpet. She loved that idea. Then we decided to add some brushed gold over the ornate parts to bring out the gold in her framed mirror she has also in her living room.
So we sanded, primed, and added multilpe coats of grey...
I brushed the gold...
John really smoothes out the pieces before I paint them....
Look at that smooth top!
I added alot of gold to really make the design come out...
plus I painted the knobs gold..
added some brushed gold to the hinges also...
Wow it looks awesome!
This is a really beautiful piece!
Heather Grey Dresser Missing Drawer Made Into Dresser with Shelves
This dresser we had for quite some time now and didn't list it because it was missing a drawer. We needed some room, so we decided to work on it. It is a very nice piece of solid wood. So we got started on it over the weekend....we took out the top drawer and used it for missing parts on the other drawers.
Completely took off the handles I just couldn't see them on this dresser they where hideous! Then John repaired the cracks, took out the boards that where not needed, cut some wood for the shelves, sealed up the holes where the handles where, sanded it down....
Then I primed it with multiple times with primer....stained the top with different colors of stains...
customized a color and made a heather grey...
I wanted to show more wood than just on top so I stained the shelves also...
Painted the end of the shelf lip heather grey also so it wouldn't look seperated..
We where looking for some handles to go with it and couldn't find any, then we seen these towel racks,
that was it once we seen those the hunt was over!!!
They look awesome!
Here it is all finished!!!
I love how the wood parts accent the handles...
It's so beautiful :) Wowzers, I love it!
Antique Dresser Chest Painted Grey & White....
I had this for sale as one of my unfinished pieces and I decided to paint it with my own choice of colors.....it is solid wood throughout. Very heavy and solid. The finish on it was so thick. It took John 2 days to strip it to the bare wood. Must have been 5 layers of lacquer finish on it. We actually got it like this already, the person looks like they tried to sand it but it was to much. So we finished it :)
Primed the drawers with 3 coats of primer and painted 5 coats of off white paint to the drawers.....
polished off the crud from the handles and painted them Gold.....
Even has dividers in the 3rd drawer!
Painted the shell 5 coats of Grey paint....distressed it very little on the edges....
I know I always say this....but I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!
Grey French Provincial Dresser with Pink Handles
This was a before picture I was sanding it down getting ready to prime it. My Buddy was looking at me sitting on his bench, yes HIS bench :) My husband repaired 2 of the dovetail drawers they where missing the back pieces.
I decided to paint it grey for the shell and I sanded the drawers down but left some cream paint on them, then stained and waxed the drawers. Then painted the handles pink.
I used some light brown wax to bring out the wood and darken it abit.......
I love the way it came out!
Grey Custom Order Set Dresser Desk Headboard
This was a custom order for one of my repeat buyers, she picked out these that I had, and said she wanted them painted like one of my dressers I had done before. I actually had to look for a headboard for her and she liked this one I found. For the dresser I forgot to take pictures of the before...
The desk was painted a black lacquer and needed repair, so we fixed the damaged parts and sanded them all down, primed them...
And here they are!!! Grey with black handles :)
Looks super awesome!!!!!
1950's Dresser given a modern look....
This was a custom order, she wanted it to look like one of my previous dresser I painted.....
so we stripped this down, the lacquer on this was so thick. It took alot of sanding to get it off. Then I primed it and....
Done, this is the after.....
teal outer shell, grey drawers, and pink handles......
This is super cute, just right for a little girl:)
French Provincial Dixie Dresser
This one was pretty as is but I need my pieces with some color, I mean real color! I was really flip floppy with this one. I didn't know what colors to choose as I was looking for a two tone cause that's what I mainly like. So my sweet husband (love him so much) sanded it down and I came up with this.....
Emerald Green top and part of the drawers....
Grey shell and part of the drawers.....
with silver handles!
I JUST L-O-V-E IT!!!!!!
Two Solid Wood 1960's Pantry Cabinet Shelves
These where just all wood colored when I found them. I always see painted ones that are all painted. I couldn't do that to these. I wanted to show some of the wood as it was just to pretty to cover up.
So I painted this one teal green in some areas. Then painted the grooved areas and handles grey. Added some small fencing wire to the back top cabinets and painted those grey also.
This one has 3 drawers as shown....
This one I painted white in some areas. Then painted the grooved areas and handles black.
Now, they look fabulous! Just alittle touch of color was all they needed....
Shabby Chic with alittle Steampunk Vanity or Entry Table
I found this vanity, the mirror was a total loss, cracked and broken, so I replaced it with another mirror I had. Rebuilt the back with some extra wood pieces I had and one even had that pretty design on it already.
It even had the original handles still!
Distressed everything,....heavy waxed the white parts.....
Painted the doors and back pieces dark grey, painted the handles copper, even the mirror painted it copper to bring out the handles, then added some copper color to the wood decor.
Look at the hideaway in the right drawer. We added a cover for it, it is a piece of a fan blade, so cool!
I just love this piece, it was supposed to be a quick one for us, but goodness it ended up being ALOT of work. I guess that is why it looks so beautiful to me:) I see a mixture of age along with some updated beauty.....
Midnight Blue Hot Pink Dresser
This was before it has a missing back and missing drawers on bottom of two, I was trying to sell it as is because I had to many other projects to do, but no one wanted to take on the job....so I did :)
And here is after sanding and repairing I put a thick piece of wood on back, painted it midnight blue then drawers hot pink ...
stained the top and protected it with light brown wax.....
and painted the handles grey...
I just think it came out really cute!
Vintage 1970's Console Stand..
Before...
Was totally unloved and not taken care of at all....
The finish on it was thick and just horrible!
Gashes on top and stained.....
After.....
We repaired all the gashes, sanded it all down, I primed it then painted it with 2 coats of dark grey. Waxed it 3 times. Painted the handles gold...and here it is!
I just love all the compartments and everything is hidden with all the doors. All solid wood.....
