Old Finish French Dresser Updated...
I really am starting to dislike these vintage
antique white dressers.
They paint the beautiful tops!
I stripped the top.
Painted the body in a cream.
Stained the beautiful top in a dark stain.
Sealed the top in a high gloss sprayed finish.
Didn’t do no distressing on this one.
Too many straight lines.
Cleaned and polished the hardware.

Beautiful French Dresser...
I've had this beautiful french dresser in my inventory
(along with a whole lot more dressers). Since I've decided to move
my customer orders to summer only...I'm
starting to get to the inventory I've had.
Finally going to start putting out pieces in my own design
for sale.
This particular one is made by Drexel in the Riviera
style. Here is the before below.
Had to fix 3 drawers because they where hard to open
and close. I always always make sure my pieces
go out in excellent working condition.
I didn't like that wave pattern on it at all.
So, I removed it.
It was nailed and glued on but came off somewhat
easy..ha ha!
Filled in the major scratches, not all because I wanted this
to be a farmhouse shabby chic look. I mean it's old
and vintage so might as well show it huh?
I had to prime it because it's cherry wood so bleed through!
Then I painted it in Joanna Gaines Magnolia
chalk paint color Shiplap.
It's a weathered white.
I don't make my chalk paint I just buy it. I don't really
care how expensive it is, if the quality is good I'm good.
I find making it leaves a rough grainy finish.
I love smooth finishes.
Distressed edges and left hardware in original condition.
I price my pieces I paint by my experience I have
and my work which is really
good. Plus the time I put into some of these, repairs, design,
materials, (paint is expensive), plus the age and style of the
piece.
Details are amazing!
Looks so much better without those wave patterns.
Priced at $ 575
66"w/22.5"d/35"h
Cash or Zelle only.
Delivery to 1st floor only for an
additional fee of $40.
French Antiqued Dresser...
This was a customer order. One of my good friends from
high school wanted a french dresser.
Before below.
She wanted it in this finish below I did a few years ago.
Stained top in expresso. Ran into some trouble
on the trim as it was pressed wood.
But I made it work best I could.
Looks good too!
Sealed top in a gloss finish.
Painted the body in Annie Sloan Natural.
Which is the old white but now old white is more
gray.
Antiqued and distressed it.
Kept hardware original.
Looks gorgeous!
Sidenote..arms and shoulders where killing
me last night from the antiquing..
WORTH IT!

front drawers was off needed french hardware.
Which is why I had it in my fixer upper storage warehouse.
Before below.
Then I found a french nightstand in the same style.
She wanted that one too.
Also wanted a mirror so I showed her what I had
that would work with the size of the dresser.
Here is the dresser after we repaired and stripped it.

Gray Aged French Dresser....
I have tons of pieces in my storage units.
Usually if a client contacts me and asks
for specific pieces in certain sizes and
looks I mostly have them. Just not listed
yet as most need repairs.
Or if I feel they'd sale better painted I
pull them to the back.
This french dresser was one of those.
She needed a max 62" french and this was
a 61". She fell in love with it.
Before below.
She wanted a light gray light distressed finish.
Hardware kept original.
After I custom painted it below.
She loved it! Even her neighbor who was walking her dogs
when we delivered it loved it!
You just never know what I have hidden in my inventory 😉
Pink Distressed French Dresser...
Found this dresser in some bad shape.
Before pictures below.
Look at this top.
I sanded it down and tried to
get all the scratches out.
Got most but not all. So I just smoothed
out what I couldn't remove.
I wasn't too upset as it was going to go
with the vintage aged look I was going
for. Stained it in a mixture of
driftwood, provincial, and true brown.
I painted it in a new paint I wanted to try.
I follow them on Instagram.
The Chippy Barn Amulent paint.
Color is nursery rhyme.
Kept hardware original.
It's a beautiful color! Paint is very smooth.
Distresses and chips perfectly for that aged
vintage look I wanted.
Sealed everything in a flat water based sealer.
Priced at $300.

French Provincial Armiore, Dresser, Nightstand Set.....
New client contacted us, picked these out of our inventory.
The french armiore, dresser, and nightstands set.
I didn't have the dresser or nightstands set listed
yet. She resides in Austin, Tx and couldn't
make it out to view what I didn't have listed.
I took some pictures of what she described to me that she
was searching for.
She for sure wanted this armiore.
I had two and both have sold already.
Here is the nightstands.
Then the dresser.
We stripped everything down.
After I primed everything, she picked the color butter cream.
It's a restoration hardware paint.
She wanted a distressed edges look with
dark bronze hardware.
My smooth flat finish is really outstanding.
She loved everything! It looks amazing
doesn't it?
Duck Egg Blue French Dresser...
Past client contacted me and wanted a french
dresser for her daughter. I had this one in my workshop
for a few months.
She loved it and picked annie sloan
duck egg blue with a distressed finish.
Before below.
Was spray painted from previous owner.
Wasn't stripped either before as you can
see the scratch marks I made to see
how I was going to strip it.
We stripped it all and made new holes
for the hardware I had in my inventory.
This one didn't come with french hardware.
Painted it.
Distressed edges only.
Painted the new hardware.
Oh my gosh it came out so beautiful!
I love it! When we delivered it her little girl
was saying "it's so pretty, thank you!"
Navy French Bedroom Set...
Client who was flooded in Harvey picked this french
dresser and nightstand set from our inventory.
She fell in love with our work we had done for her friend
( another client of ours).
These are the before pictures below.
This dresser below had veneer damage which we repaired.
We stripped everything down.
She wanted updated hardware, so we sealed in
those old hardware holes.
We added new wood tops to the nightstands
the before tops where made from some
fake leather.
Painted in a navy clean finish.
Here is the new hardware on the middle dresser
drawers.
New hardware.
Looks very clean and updated. Love the outcome 💖
Next post will be her antique dining set we also
did with this order.
Deep Blue French Dresser...
Found this french chest of drawers in a resale shop.
I was intentionally going to use only the
hardware. I just couldn't. So, I updated it.
Here is the before below.
Needed some drawer repair.
We did that and now it's in fully working order.
I sanded most of it down
and cleaned it up.
I painted it in some new chalk paint
I wanted to try out.
It's Magnolia by Joanna Gaines
in the color silos district.
My verdict on the paint, it's like any other
chalk paint out there. Only problem is
they mix it before you order it. So, it took about a week
in a half to get it. Mind you I live in Humble, TX.
That's 20 mins outside Houston, TX.
It adheres well and distresses good.
I did do 4 coats though. First coat coverage
was good, but I wanted a more even
coverage.
I added some gray and white stripped
paper to the back. This piece did have a missing drawer.
Then we added some wood pieces to the sides
and bottom to make a shelf.
I stained and sealed those.
Distressed some areas on edges. Not too over the top though.
Hardware I cleaned up and kept the white in
the creases of the handles to go with
some of the white from distressing.
To make give it a little more, I added the striped
paper to the inside drawers.
Sealed everything in a flat finish.
It's all smooth and durable.
Love this!
Would look amazing in a childs/tweens room.
Available, message if interested.
French Linen Dresser & Armiore...
New client contacted me on Facebook last
June 2017. She followed me for awhile
after that waiting for the right pieces I had
coming in. As I get inventory in often.
Sometimes I have time to list and sometimes I don't.
I got this french set in made by Link Taylor
It was a dresser, chest, and nightstand set.
The nightstand set sold as is, and I still have the chest.
She wanted only the dresser. (that picture is far below scroll down)
Then I got these french armories in made by
white fine furniture. She immediately
contacted me and said she wanted one.
She resides in Belton, Tx and asked if we could deliver there.
I said of course, I have clients in Austin
and it would be $125 to deliver to her area.
Here it is below.
She had first wanted a off white in
sherwin williams alabastera, then sage color,
then black, and finally she decided on
annie sloan french linen. Which I told her was
a very beautiful color.
One of my clients had picked that color
in December for some side dressers, then
I painted a dresser in it to put up for sale
(that has been sold already).
Here they are painted and sealed in a
flat finish.
She wanted to keep the fabric & hardware original.
Excellent choice.
She wanted minimal distressing.
I chose to paint the inside drawers and
side cabinets next to the middle drawers.
You would see the original wood if
I didn't and I knew that wouldn't look right.
I asked first and she said whatever I thought
was best. I'm glad i did.
Here's the before on the link taylor dresser.
She loved them so much and was so excited!
Here they are in her home after we delivered them to her.
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Light Gray French Dresser, Bookshelf, Armiore...
Another new client found us online
and was expecting. She picked the french dresser
and bookshelf from our inventory. Then she
found the armiore online and we
went to go pick it up for her.
Here are the pieces before below.
Forgot to take a picture of the armiore before.
Here's one while we where stripping it.
She decided on a light gray.
I suggested silver chain from Benjamin Moore.
It was a true light gray I thought.
She was still deciding on the hardware so
she didn't want us to put it back on.
Looks beautiful!
French Gray Dresser...New Look From Before...
We found and purchased this dresser in really bad condition.
Here is the before below. Hardware was missing.
A new follower contacted me and wanted to know
what I would be putting out next.
I showed her this one. Let's just say it was sold before I could list.
We stripped it down.
Repaired a lot of loose veneer.
Sealed in the old hardware holes. I had this same style dresser before
in my inventory years ago and we had custom painted it for a client.
So I knew what hardware to search for had no luck.
Sealed in most of the splits in the wood and reinforced them.
Refinished the top in General Finishes wood stain Espresso
Sealed it with high performance top coat.
Painted the body in Chelsea Gray by Benjamin Moore.
Distressed edges,
Added the new hardware.
Hobby lobby is my go to for hardware when
I can't find the original anywhere else.
Smooth no brush stroke flat thin finish.
She loved it!
French Dresser Painted In Ivory.....
Another piece from the huge order we've been working on.
Before below.
Had to repair some slides the client wanted done.
This was her own piece and she wanted it painted
in a clean finish.
She picked Benjamin Moore Mannequin Cream
which is a soft ivory.
Hardware painted in oil rubbed bronze.
I had finished this the day before Harvey flood came.
Thank God my storage units and home
were not affected.
Sanded down on the wood areas.
The other parts where plastic.
Primed.
Sanding primer down is dirty so is sanding
the original finish down.
All painted in ben moore ivory.
Looks beautiful!
French Provincial Navy Dresser/Nightstands Set....
New client bought the french oversized nightstands
or half dressers from me back in January of this year.
She came back to me in April and wanted me to
add her to my custom order list. She had the matching
french dresser plus the nightstands she wanted in
a navy color. I told her to pick a navy from the
Benjamin Moore line. She was going to pick
New York State Of Mind, but I told her I used that color before
for a client it wasn't a true navy.
I suggested Old navy which I have used also for a client. That is
a true navy blue and beautiful!
She loved it and we went with that color.
Here are the befores of all three pieces below.
She waited patiently and we started on them a few weeks
ago. We stripped them..
Primed them..
Then painted them in Benjamin Moore Old Navy.
Sealed in a high quality wax sealer.
Smooth flat clean finish.
She's going to be adding the hardware later.
It will be in a dark nickel.
Love it so much! Worth all the hard work.
Destroyed French Dresser Made Beautiful Again....
We found this old antique french dresser at a resale
shop back in October of 2016. I loved the look of it
and knew once we got our hands on it the beauty would show,
So, we worked on our custom clients orders and John
repaired it here and there on the side.
Here are some photos below of all the damage.
It was missing a middle handle and knob. I had the
exact ones in my inventory.
One of the middle feet was clipped off and missing.
Missing slides on drawers.
Veneer missing and pulling off throughout the whole piece.
That is solid wood decor on the drawers not plastic.
Middle cabinet door was damaged.
We repaired all the missing veneer & drawer slides, made another foot,
stripped it all down. Then I primed it.
Shaped all the repair nice and smooth with no pit holes.
The dresser had factory paint and another
layer of some oil base paint over it.
Added a new wood back.
Then after priming it, I painted it all white from
Benjamin Moore.
Slight distress on edges. Left some dents in to go
with the look of the older piece.
Painted hardware in a soft iron color.
This is the foot we repaired. Remember it
was completely clipped off and missing.
Paint applied in our smooth flat finish.
Painted the hinges and fencing in the
soft iron color also.
Cabinet door all repaired.
Deep bottom drawers.
It looks so beautiful! Currently available for purchase.
