White Updated Rustic Dresser......
I was working on this piece last month that I
got for free from a client. I didn't like the previous hardware, so
I replaced it with new handles.
While I was working on it along with a custom client order
that was being painted the same color (multitasking!)
I received a message from a new follower.
She wanted a previous dresser I had just sold a few hours
before. She asked if I would be painting anything
in that same style & color...I said yes and showed
her this one I was working on.
Here is the before below.
Sanded it down. Then primed it.
I showed her this picture of the handles I was putting on them.
I also showed her the before with the original handles.
She loved the look I was going for all she wanted was the hardware
painted silver.
Here it is painted in white using Benjamin Moore paint.
No distress I thought it looked better without it.
I liked the clean look on this particular dresser.
Here it is in her home, she loved it!
Beautiful Ornate Buffet In Gray...
The last piece of furniture for the huge order we've
been working on the last few weeks. We had to wait a week till Harvey
left houston to do this. That was scary. The rain just didn't stop.
Constant, more hard downpours than anything.
We didn't get any flooding in our home or storage units.
Although, a lot of my clients did. Some lost only the first floor.
Other's lost everything. Pieces we had custom painted for them
where ruined and had to be thrown out. As long as they are
all ok because items can be repaired and replaced.
Still it's heartbreaking and a stressful tiring time for them.
We have seen the destruction going thru the neighbor
hoods. There are no words. All the furniture, appliances, mattresses,
lamps, sofas, bedding, clothes, sheetrock, everything on the front
lawns. Mother nature is very unpredictable, life is very
unpredictable. But seeing all the amazing people in our city
of Houston, Tx is beautiful. Helping each other, making it somewhat
easier for people who lost so much. Lifting that burden some
to relieve that anxiety of what was lost. God bless them all.
Here is the before on this beautiful buffet my client
purchased from her neighbor that was moving and couldn't
take it with her.
You need a key to open all doors.
We sanded it all down and then I primed it all.
Then I painted it in Benjamin Moore Chelsea Gray.
She initially wanted metallic silver from Ralph Lauren,
but they no longer make paint.
It came out so clean and beautiful. So glad she went with one
of the colors I recomended!
French Dresser Painted In Ivory.....
Another piece from the huge order we've been working on.
Before below.
Had to repair some slides the client wanted done.
This was her own piece and she wanted it painted
in a clean finish.
She picked Benjamin Moore Mannequin Cream
which is a soft ivory.
Hardware painted in oil rubbed bronze.
I had finished this the day before Harvey flood came.
Thank God my storage units and home
were not affected.
Sanded down on the wood areas.
The other parts where plastic.
Primed.
Sanding primer down is dirty so is sanding
the original finish down.
All painted in ben moore ivory.
Looks beautiful!
Navy Blue Maple Dresser....
Painted this maple dresser from 1962 in a chalk painted
navy blue custom mix I did. Here is the before below.
Sanded the top and refinished it in a dark walnut.
Painted the body in navy blue with slight
distress on edges. Painted hardware in oil rubbed bronze.
Sealed top and bottom in a matte water based sealer.
No brush strokes at all.
It came out so beautiful!
Currently available, message if interested.
Off White Antique Chest....
Found this old antique chest of drawers.
It was painted in a dark gray, we sanded that gray off.
I removed the knobs...here is the before below.
I primed it then painted it in a off
white color. Distressed it on edges.
Painted in Benjamin Moore latex finish.
Smooth no brush stroke finish.
Bought new knobs.
Left all the missing wood on the the front side
edges. It shows how old it is.
Original legs.
Drawers go smaller to larger in depth.
Beautiful and currently available.
Message if interested.
Navy Chest Of Drawers.....
One of our clients daughter wanted this chest
of drawers she found painted in a navy.
I suggested hale navy from Benjamin Moore
as she wanted a navy with slight tint of gray.
She also wanted some slides and damaged veneer on bottom
repaired. Then hardware polished.
Here is the before below.
We sanded it all down and repaired everything that
needed repair.
After that I primed and then painted
it.
Oh my!! I love it!!
Soft Ivory French NIghtstands & Chest....
New client waiting patiently since May
for us to get to her order. We're always booked 2 to 3 months
for custom orders. These are her own pieces and part 1
of her order. Part 2 will be completed this week.
She wanted a soft ivory, with oil rubbed bronze hardware.
All done in a clean no distress or aged look.
Here are the befores below.
She wanted french hardware on the lingerie
chest to go with the other furniture.
I had these in my inventory that I sold her.
She picked from 3 sets I had in stock.
I really love these!
We stripped/sanded them all down
and primed them all.
Sealed in the old handle holes on the chest.
Here they are all completed and painted
in soft ivory.
Our smooth latex finish.
Very grateful my clients wait for us to get to their order.
We take so much pride in our work, I don't
give myself enough credit for the finishes I do.
I'm always checking and making sure I make them
look as perfect as I can. I'm kinda hard on myself, but it works!
I don't get too many likes or comments on here or
Facebook/Instagram but, my custom order waiting list
& repeat clients/referrals are more than enough for me.
That shows that my work and durability is excellent, I think.
They came out so beautiful!!
Thank you Kristie!
Off White Table Chairs Set W/ Sofa Table....
This table set and sofa table was a clients who wanted
me to paint it in Alabaster by Sherwin Williams.
Since my favorite is Benjamin Moore I color matched it.
We stripped it down and it was messy plus took forever.
Sofa table was a dream to sand down.
I forgot to take a photo of the table top stripped.
Almost forgot to take them at all.
Primed and painted them.
Sealed the table top.
Sealed everything else in our high quality wax finish.
Looks beautiful and so much cleaner.
Spindle Bedroom Set Clean White.....
Another new client contacted me thru my fb page.
She wanted us to paint her furniture that was given
to her by her aunt. She said she wanted
it for her little girls room instead of buying new furniture.
The color she wanted was all white no distress.
It was a dresser, vanity top with mirror, nightstand,
and a bed. Lots of spindles mixed in the whole set except the dresser.
Here is the before of the dresser, vanity, mirror,
and nightstand.
We stripped them down and sanded the rest down.
Then I primed them all.
She also wanted the knobs painted white but
not the brass parts.
Painted them all white with Benjamin Moore paint.
Our drop dead smooth finish.
My pictures speak for themselves.
Painted the knobs after we stripped those.
Painted with Benjamin Moore paint also.
Lots of hard work to get our finish to look like
it does.
We removed the mirror to paint back and front of
the mirror frame. It's more work but looks professionally done.
Here is the dresser with the vanity & mirror.
Without the vanity & mirror.
I love it!
Next, was the spindle full/queen size bed.
Before pictured below.
Stripped & sanded.
Then I primed it all.
Painted all white with Benjamin Moore paint
no distress.
Love it! Much better in all white :)
Duncan Phyfe Buffet...
We had this beautiful duncan phyfe buffet for some time
in our inventory. I wanted to put a painted piece of my own
design out for sale and chose this buffet.
Here is the before below. We repaired cosmetic damage.
Stripped the top down.
Then, I refinished the top.
I used a custom mix of stains for the refinished top.
Sealed it in a satin poly.
I decided to keep this beautiful hardware.
I also painted and antiqued the
hardware also.
Painted the body in a light gray chalk paint
I custom mixed.
Antiqued it in some areas but no distressing.
I really love how it came out!
Antique Executive Desk.......
Another one of our wonderful repeat clients came to us
and wanted to know if we had a executive desk.
She sent me style from Restoration Hardware. I had a beautiful
one I knew she would love. It needed tons of cosmetic work.
Here it is below.
We repaired all the cosmetic parts, sealed in all dents, scratches,
and pit holes as she wanted a smooth flat finish.
Then sanded it all down.
Sealed in all the holes because, she wanted handles.
She sent me some she was going to order
online, I then showed her some I had that were perfect
for the look she wanted.
I also suggested Restoration Hardware paint and she loved that
idea. She picked the color Graphite from them. I ordered
it and when to work on it. I primed the whole desk of course.
Then, I painted it with the restoration hardware paint.
I cleaned up the hardware.
Look at that awesome job John did. You can't even see
that it was ever damaged.
Our smooth custom flat finish.
No brush strokes as we spray it with a high volume
low pressure gun and our huge air compressor.
This is the back of the desk we also custom painted.
She loved it! I do too, way cheaper than the actual
Restoration Hardware desks. Plus, it's antique and
100% solid wood.
Score!
