Customer Order..Dorian Gray Italian Provincial Dresser
I started up customer orders on a case to case basis.
I had stopped for 10 months to get some of my
own pieces out for sale. Plus, started a new format on how I will be
taking customer orders now too.
This was her husbands childhood dresser that he had
since he was 5 year sold!
They wanted it in Dorian Gray with a dark stained top.
Before above. Had some veneer damage on one of the drawers and top
corner side.
We repaired all the missing chipped veneer.
Sanded it down.
Stripped the top.
Primed it.
Stained the top in Kona.
It came out beautiful with all that grain showing.
Painted in Dorian Gray.
She wanted to keep the original hardware.
I think it was an excellent choice too.
Top coated everything in a satin sealer.
Looks amazing! Her husband was so happy with the outcome too!
Mid Century Modern Emphasis Buffet.....
Broyhill made amazing mid century furniture back in the 70s.
I just love the Broyhill mid century modern in the Emphasis line.
How the whole legs are built in...then sculpted all the way down...

Most mid century modern have the screwed in base. I mean love those too!
These just have a design to them that has detail but not too much.
Here is the before below. It didn't have the original wood sculpted
handles. Most where broken or totally gone.
We filled in the carved out wood from the original hardware.
Then I painted the drawers black.
Added new modern hardware in aged brass.
Then I added some pop to the cabinet area.
Matte black vine wallpaper with yellow birds.
Cleaned up the wood finish with some dark walnut stain.
Sealed everything in a semi gloss sealer.

Plank Top Buffet in Old Ochre...
One of my wonderful customers contacted me a few months ago.
Her mother wanted to sell me some of her mothers furniture.
So my customers grandparents furniture.
We worked out a deal and loaded it all up.
This had a hutch that went on top.
Thinking of doing the hutch into a cabinet with some feet.
Anyway, here was the buffet part. I actually had it up for
sale as is, just to give it a chance before I tackled it.
It was 28" high below. So kinda short.
I added some feet to the front and back.
Then added some wood planks to the top.
Stained those in a custom stain mix.
Sealed in a flat poly.
I painted the body in
Annie Sloan Old Ochre.
Distressed edges.
Added new updated knobs.
But kept the original top handles.
Left the inside original.
Shelves are adjustable.
Love how everything came out!!

Italian Provincial Dresser In Still Water...
One of my previous customers that purchased a
dresser from me last year, flips houses.
She bought a dresser and painted it herself.
This time she came to me needing
a 80' wide dresser. She was going to use it as
a bathroom vanity also. I had one in my inventory!
Yay!! Here is the before below.
She wanted me to paint it this time.
Sanded it down.
Primed it.
She chose the color by Sherwin Williams
Still Water. In a clean finish.
Hardware she wanted a slight polish with some brass
showing.
She will be adding quartz counter top to it.
Looks amazing!

Italian Provincial Chest in Evergreens....
Had this italian provincial style high dresser in my
inventory up as is. Customer wanted it, but painted.
Here is the before below.
Primed and repaired everything.
It was in good condition for as is.
But for painted, we needed to fill in dents.
Make sure the drawers didn’t rub
against each other once painted.
She wanted an olive or dark green color.
I gave her choices in colors and she decided on
Sherwin Williams Evergreens.
I loved that color as soon as I seen it.
So was hoping she’d pick it.
She wanted hardware painted in gold.
She loves it, it will be going in
her newborns nursery ❤️
Mid Century Modern Nightstands In Black....
These mid century modern nightstands
needed some major repair work.
Before shown below.
We repaired and sanded them down.
Took about 2 weeks.
I worked on them of and on why doing other pieces.
Primed it in my custom gray.
Painted them in general finishes lamp black.
Sealed in semi gloss high performance.
Painted hardware gold.
Stained the bottom base in dark walnut.

Antique Chest In Cream with Aged Look....
Well, I'm going down the line in my
inventory. This one is one of those I
kept unseen as well as most of what I
have. As you can see it needed tons work.
Before below.
Veneer damage. This piece is old.
The previous owner said from the early 1900s.
Top was lifted up and looked like they tried to
repair before but it didn't work.
I repaired it all, sanded then primed it.
I decided to paint this in a cream.
Repaired those veneer chips.
With distressed edges.
Color is Benjamin Moore Mannequin Cream.
I left some chips in the detail to show age
and more detail for the look.
Stained the from legs in a darker stain color.
Kept the original wood casters.
Repaired the top, now its solid and no more
lifting.
Top back splash is removable.
I love it though.
Smooth delicious finish!
Kept original hardware because it's
BEAUTIFUL!

Mid Century Modern Bookshelf...
I picked this mid century modern shelf up with out any legs
and no shelf.
I added new mcm legs and added a new shelf.
Stained the shelf and legs in Flagstone.
Painted the body inside and out with
Benjamin Moore Coventry Gray.
Has one sliding original glass door that slides.
The glass can be removed if not needed.

Old Dressers Made Into Nightstands.....
I got these awhile back. Goodness, I can't even remember
if it was late last year or early this year.
Anyway the before is below. They actually
had shelves on top. I got rid of those.
I covered up that floral design on the top drawer.
I removed the outdated hardware.
Had to seal in the old handle holes to make new ones
for the new hardware I purchased.
I custom made this color. It's in annie sloan chalk paint
color coco with a cream chalk paint, then some custom mix gray
chalk paint.
I added some white knobs to the top.
Then some dark bronze cast iron pulls to the bottom.
Color is a greige. I love how these came out so much!
Distressed edges too!

Chest in Alabaster...
My uncle found this for us. I hated that hardware.
It's made by American Of Martinsville.
Straight modern design with some curved feet.
Here is the before below.
Once we sanded it down, sealed in
most of the dents/scratches and added new holes.
I primed then painted it in Sherwin Williams
Alabaster.
Added new hardware in brushed nickel.
Had to repair all the drawers because they where
stuck and hard to open.
Now the drawers open and close smoothly.
Has 5 drawers total.
Decided to go in a clean look on this one.

Mannequin Cream Mid Century....
Customer wanted this mcm chest from our inventory.
Before below.
Sanded.
Primed it then painted it in
Benjamin Moore Mannequin
Cream as per request from customer.
Hardware painted in gold.
Looks so clean and crisp!
King Bed Painted in Elder White....
One of our customers that had us do her
antique dresser in the previous post, wanted us to do
her old king size bed.
Here it is before below.
She had it in beige velvet fabric.
She said it's about 20 years old.
We pulled off all the fabric shown below.
Sanded it down.
This was supposed to go in her guest room.
The primed it.
Painted it in Sherwin Williams
Elder White a soft light gray.
She loved it so much she put it in her room :)
Updated Antique Dresser in Elder White...
One of our customers found this old antique
dresser and immediately thought of us.
She wanted us to repair and refinish it in
Sherwin Williams Elder White.
It's a a soft light gray.
Before below.
Needed veneer repair on top.
Repaired and stripped.
Primed.
Painted in Elder White and sealed.
Hardware painted in gold.

It came out beautiful. We also did her king size bed
size bed which is the next post.
Large Cream Distressed French Buffet....
I found this beautiful very wide and old french
provincial buffet last year. It's 94.5" wide. I had it up as custom
painted only. New customer put an order in for it
last October or November. We are booked for months.
She waited patiently. Here it is before below.
She wanted my chalk painted cream distressed
finish with a stained dark top.
It was painted in a dark reddish brown color.
So we stripped everything down. I wanted that natural
wood to show up not the painted look it had.
Stained the top in general finishes espresso.
Sealed in a semi gloss.
Body painted in cream.
Distressed the edges.
I had this beautiful hardware and added that to the
middle drawers.
Painted the inside also.
Had red felt in the first drawer so we removed that.
Boy was that fun!
Here it is all completed looking gorgeous!
She is very happy with the outcome!
White Bedroom Set...
This was our customers bedroom set when she was 8 years old.
She wanted it updated in a white distressed latex finish.
Before pictures below.
We had to sand them all down and
do minor repairs. Then Primed and painted.
Bed photo was taken in my workshop.
Was too much trouble to transport to my photo booth
shop.
Everything came out so beautiful!
Mid Century Modern in Navy...
I had this early mid century modern
dresser in my inventory for some time.
I've been pulling pieces from my inventory
as we're getting overloaded on pieces.
During the past 7 years we've had customer paint orders after
another with no gap. Well, we've gotten a large
build up of our own pieces. Our customer orders have
mostly been their own pieces they want us to paint.
Anyways, here is the before of the dresser I was putting
up for sale this week while still working on my
customer orders.
I removed the bottom piece and added
some mid century legs. I figured it would look much better.
Stripped it down.
Stained the top drawers and legs.
Painted the rest in Benjamin Moore Hale Navy.
Hardware I painted gold.
Stained drawers in dark walnut.
I was actually undecided on color.
I had this one and other in mind.
A customer contacted me and wanted it.
So, it sold before I could list it.
Looks so beautiful! I'm so amazed at what I can
come up with and do sometimes!

Farmhouse Cream Aged Desk...
Someone who I purchased a piece from
last year online knew I refinished furniture.
She contacted me because she was moving out
of state and sold me this desk .
It had a cuteness about it so I purchased it.
Looks like they removed the bottom and added
2 different styles of feet.
Look like bed posts.
Anyway super adorable.
Had to repair one has it was loose.
Added a new hanger bolt to the foot and now its
all sturdy.
Painted it in a cream aged look.
Distressed edges. Left the hardware original.
Painted back also.

I know i forgot to do a before on this one which
would've been nice because the top
was horrible.
I did a stained top. I had to go over it with 2
different stains because of a water mark that
just didn't want to come out.
I did a pretty good job I think.
Sometimes we run into that. Oil stains are the worse.
Takes way too much time up.
Sealed the top in a flat sealer.
Hardware I painted dark bronze.
Painted the body in a clean white look.
I removed a center decor piece because I
didn't like the way it looked took away from the piece.
Now it looks more cleaner.
