Italian Provincial In Dorian Gray....
Had this Italian Provincial highboy for 3 years. The dresser I sold as is.
This one had missing hardware. So, I couldn't list it as is.
I finally have time to get to my project pieces now that I've
discontinued my customer orders. Yay!!
Before above and below.
Stripped it down and sealed in the old hardware holes.
We made new holes for the new hardware.
After I primed it, I painted it in Dorian Gray.
I purchased new modern hardware in aged bronze.
I had to get smaller hardware for the top
4 drawers and larger for the bottom 2 drawers.
Coin shelf is removable.
SOLD!

Love the new modern updated look!
Antique Cabinet Painted For Client.....
A new client who has been following me for a few
years contacted us for a custom painted order.
She had this old antique cabinet her dad had given here mom
years ago. It was heavily stained and chipping away. Her mom's
birthday was coming up and wanted to surprise her with it
custom painted in a new look.
Here is the before below.
We stripped and sanded it all down.
She picked a color from Benjamin moore.
I painted it a chocolate brown,
Added some glass knobs I had in our workshop.
Below in the picture you can see the date her
father scratched in the day he gave it to her mother.
She loved it, I think it's beautiful!
Shabby Chic Pink Chest Of Drawers..
We found this antique chest of drawers awhile back in bad shape....
So we repaired it off and on while waiting on
pieces we were working on to dry...
Stripped it down...
.
primed it all...
This is the color I chose, a light soft pink,
called Powder Pink by Benjamin Moore.
A very subtle pink color.
Then painted it all in our professional flat finish.
I left all the cracks and dents on this one, I usually
seal that all up as shown in my
previous posts.
I couldn't take that away with this one as it's
old and wanted to stay with that look.
I distressed the edges...
smooth finish...
Added these beautiful ceramic teal flower knobs
with gold tips....
replaced all the inner bottom drawers...
we also replaced the back boards...
So beautiful!
Headboard Set Painted Black.......
One of my past clients that purchased a custom painted
french chest I did back in 2013, contacted
me. She wanted
us to paint her king size headboard set black.
Plus some distress on edges.
She has started to paint it gray, but then didn't have time
to finish......
when we went to pick it up she changed her mind and
wanted it all black with distressed edges.....
So we stripped it down, by sanded it to the
bare wood....
then I painted it all black....
distressed edges....
Came out really nice!
Custom Painted White Nightstands Set Made Higher.....
We had this nightstands set up for sale as is
for awhile. I had a idea in my head for these.
I pulled off the knobs as it was
missing one, John sealed up the holes.
Added puddy to the damaged areas....
glued loose veneer...
Replaced damaged slides....
Primed and painted it all white.....
Color is Ben Moore Out of Can White......
I have lots of different legs, I picked these though
I think they go better with the style...
Added thick wood planks to the back of the
nightstands....
Found the perfect knobs to bring out the beauty
in these nightstands....
They look so much better now!
Elegant Clean Look for Soft Gray Dresser.......
I had this triple drawer dresser in my
inventory for some time about a year.
Pulled it out and went to work on it.
Here is the before...I removed the big handles
and the backplate/knob on the middle cabinet door
Stripped it down to bare wood, nice smooth sanding job
sealed in all the holes from the handles and nail holes
primed it and painted it a soft gray by Ben Moore
called nightingale
went on a search for the perfect knobs....
antiqued the backplates decor on the top drawers
and cabinet drawer hinges
Looks way better then the before.
An elegant clean look.
Broyhill Dresser Custom Painted White....
This Broyhill triple dresser was picked from
our inventory by a client.
She wanted it painted all white with polished hardware.
She also wanted it a clean look with no distress.
This was the before.....
after we stripped it down....
we take off all hardware and
cabinet doors for a better finish....
I primed it and then painted it
the color she chose.....
it was a Sherwin Williams color
that I matched to Benjamin Moore paint....
very clean look....
smooth finish....no brush strokes....
like I said we take EVERY piece
of hardware off.....
smooth top....
I paint everywhere you can see....
I tried to take a picture of the sun shining
on the dresser so you can
see the smooth flat finish we always do...
the only time we don't do a flat smooth finish
is when the client wants a shabby aged look
with layered colors.....
Fully completed.
She was very impressed as all my clients are.
The before, during, and after process.
Black Nightstand, Teal Chest, French Provincial Headboard Set....
We love to custom paint furniture, we love
it so much, that we take pride in our work.
We pay attention to detail and put our best effort into
each piece. It's a lot of work, but we enjoy the finished part.
We really enjoy it when our clients refer us! That they trust
and love our work so much that
they are willing to share our work!
We had a client last year that came to us to paint
them a french provincial dresser. Then a year later,
we got a call from a friend of theirs that wanted
us to do some of their furniture also!
So we did a french provincial bedroom set you can see in
a previous post. Then they asked us to do more furniture...
which you will see below.
This nightstand was all black, but he wanted it
updated to a new black and distressed with
polished handles.
So we stripped it all down...
.
painted it all black....
polished up the handles....
then distressed it in some areas....
just a touch of distress not too much...
our smooth finish....
All done, more clean and updated!
Next, they wanted us to custom paint
this chest in a soft teal with silver handles...
so we sanded the chest down and primed it....
painted it soft teal...
stripped, primed, and painted the handles silver....
our smooth flat finish....
Super Cute!!!
Last, was the french provincial headboard set.
This was actually supposed to go with
the french provincial bedroom
set we had did for them a few months ago.
They forgot to give it to us, so we stripped it down...
primed it and painted it a creamy white...
distressed it slightly....
All done and looking adorable!
Custom Painted Dresser & Cabinet For Interior Designer.......
So we are finally completed with Stephanie's
order on the pieces she had us custom paint for her.
If you read my other post last month,
on the interior designer "Stephanie Ruckert" you can
view the other pieces we did for her..
She is remodeling her whole house in The Woodlands, Tx,
to show her different styles in designing homes.
This picture below was a french dresser with peeling
veneer. This took almost a month to repair.
We had to glue each layer of veneer back on, smooth
it out, then repaired the rest that was missing.
Stripped it all down.....primed it....
She wanted it out of the can white,
with gray detail and hardware,...
Fully completed, a whole lotta work, but it came out fantastic!
Next, was a cabinet she had wanted it painted a
certain color of blue, with gold detail rubbed
over the popped out parts on the sides
and the drawers.....
So we sanded it down and primed it....
Painted it her blue she picked out,,,
she also picked out these handles....
did the gold detail.....
Here it is all done! Super Gorgeous!
French Provincial Bedroom Set......
One of my repeat clients contacted me on some
french provincial furniture she wanted for her daughter.
So I showed her this french nightstand and headboard set.
She wanted the nightstand and headboard painted a soft white.
so here is the before of the nightstand....
we stripped it all down....
then primed and painted it the soft white she picked out.....
she wanted the hardware silver, so we stripped the hardware also
and painted it silver...
smooth flat finish....
Beautiful right?
Next , she wanted us to repaint her french chest,
she had painted it a oil base white....
stripped it down...handles also...
then primed and painted it a soft teal...
primed and painted the hardware silver....
smooth flat finish...
Just gorgeous!
Last, the headboard set, we actually
went out and found this for her....
stripped it down what we could and sanded down the rest...
then primed and painted it the soft white....
smooth flat finish....
Here is the whole set completely finsihed
and custom painted by "Piece Of Candy Furniture"!
Love! So did she and her daughter!
Antique Claw Foot Desk Painted Coral.......
One of my repeat clients asked me for a desk.
She needed one to use for a changing table in
her downstairs living room.
I didn't have this beautiful antique claw foot listed, because it
needed repair. It didn't have a top, was loose, and peeling veneer.
I showed it to her and she
loved it. It was the perfect size and look she wanted.
she wanted it stained with a mixture of wood color....
so after repairing we sanded it all down....
did our technique of the mixed stained wood...
she wanted a coral color and some knobs, so we decided
on these knobs which are so beautiful...
repaired all the peeling veneer....
love those knobs....
put a top on it and painted it coral...
she wanted a mixture of different wood colors
and
a coral threw out the desk...
She loved it! I think it came out really beautiful!
Custom Painted Pieces for Interior Designer..........
As most of you know, I sell my furniture pieces
unfinished or we can custom paint them for you.
Our unfinished pieces are most of the time a blank
canvas. Which means you can paint them however you
want if you buy unfinished.
So, an interior designer named Stephanie Ruckert
contacted me for one of my unfinished pieces.
She wanted us to deliver it unfinished.
Then, she viewed my blog and called back
for us to custom paint 6 of her pieces.
She told us she had just purchased a house in The Woodlands, TX.
What she is doing is remodeling the whole house
to show different styles of decorating houses.
Basically, her home will be a display of her interior designs.
She mixes industrial and vintage together.
It is so awesome looking!
She calls herself "Free Spirit Finds"
Here is the antique buffet she wanted it repaired as shown
we are doing.....
then she picked out a teal color...
wanted us to age it where it
would naturally age,,,,
we sanded it completely down after repairing it...
sealed the wood and painted it all teal except the hardware....
then added a satin finish.....
Wow! Looks beautiful!
Next, was a dresser that had a thick yellow finish on it...
this was the only before picture I could get as
John started on it before I
could get a picture...
The hardware was a heavy black....
we stripped the whole thing even the hardware....
primed it all....
then painted it gray...
added the high gloss...
also primed the hardware....
painted the hardware gold with a high gloss...
Love this lock!
This one came out fantastic!!!
Then, she had this old radio/record player
from when she was small...
wanted us to paint it yellow with a high gloss....
we sanded it all down, primed it....
then painted it yellow...
then added the high gloss which you really
can't tell as the sun wasn't out...
Done and awesome!!!
I still have 3 other pieces I'm working on,
once completed I will post them.
Info on our painting process, just so you know what you are getting with us.......
For all the furniture we custom paint, we do numerous steps to get our furniture to look like it does. A flat smooth finish, meaning no sanding swirls marks, no drips, even coverage, and no thick layers of paint. We do not use shortcuts or try to do it the easy way. Doing it right is always a lot of work but, we do it anyway.
Our custom painted furniture takes 1-2 weeks to complete and cannot be done within a few days. During this process is a lot of dry time with glue, putty, and paint. Then more time is sanding the old finish off this is a very time consuming and messy process.
On all our pieces we use a hvlp spray gun with primers and paints. If the client asked for a polycrylic finish we spray that with the hvlp gun also. No hand painting. First, we repair any piece that needs it, so it can be sturdy and last a long time. Second, we strip them down, meaning taking mostly if not all the current finish off. This makes it more durable and long lasting. Third, we prime the piece and sand it again to smooth it out. Sometimes, the piece isn't primed if the client wants to show the wood and not the primer, so we seal the wood. Fourth, we paint it with Benjamin Moore latex paint and sand it to smooth it out again. Last, it doesn't really need it but for added protection we add the wax or polycrylic. We've been doing this for almost 6 years and we love when our clients give us referrals. This is how we know our process works.
View my posts and you can see the steps we take. From the before to the after pictures. We may do a lot of work, but it gets the job done for a lasting piece. No matter what paint we use, latex, milk paint, or chalk paint we still do the above steps. I figure most everyone that is paying for a custom painted piece wants it to look professionally custom painted and last.

Bedroom set painted white, yellow, then some gray......
Two of my past clients Marissa and Ashley referred me to their sister Meagan. We furnished/custom painted a french dresser coral for Marissa last year and furnished/custom painted a french dresser white for Ashley a few weeks ago.
I really love when my clients appreciate our work.
So, Meagan brought us a rocking chair, nightstand, chest, and headboard set. Her grandmother gave these pieces to her and she wanted me to paint them all.
For this rocking chair on the left, this is the before. It will be going in her daughters room. She wanted us to tear off the skirt and paint the whole chair white no distress.
Before sanded it down, as shown on the right, we make sure it all was sturdy and glued all loose parts. Then I primed it all white.
Next, I painted it all white.
She wanted me to paint under the chair all, springs and all. Just to give it more of an industrial look. I love it!
Here is the chest. She wanted this all gray with hardware left original. This will be going in another room.
So, we sanded it all down and I primed it all.
Last, I painted it all gray. She wanted a flat look with no distress.
This is the nightstand, she wanted it an all flat white also.
Just like the rocking chair. She also wanted us to seal in the holes so she can add knobs. This will be going in her daughter's room with the rocking chair.

We sanded it all down and sealed up the hole. Then made new ones for the knobs. Primed it all white.
Then, I painted it all white. We always use Benjamin Moore latex paints. They are fantastic and very durable.
The last is the headboard set. This will also be going in her daughter's room along with the rocking chair and nightstand.
She wanted this bed set in a yellow.
We sanded it all down and repaired some loose parts. Then I primed it all white.
Last, I painted it all yellow.

French Provincial Dixie Dresser.......
This french provincial Dixie dresser was
a furnished and custom painted order.
A previous client of ours from last year
referred us to her family. So her sister in law
contacted me via facebook and picked this dresser
from our inventory and wanted it all white
with handles kept in original condition.
Here is the before.
We sanded it down to the bare wood.....
I primed and painted it all white.....
kept handles in original condition.....
Looks so beautiful!!!
Antique Rocking Chairs Custom Painted.....
This was a repeat client's rocking chairs she inherited
from her mother. She wanted us to repair them
and custom paint them.
This is the before of the smaller one.
It was missing the piece that connects the seat to the
chair....so John made a new one....
we sanded them down and I primed it....
then painted it all white....
she wanted the edges distressed
only....
John repaired the split broken side bar...
they look identical don't they?
This is the before of the larger one....
It had a broken piece of the arm that
attached to the chair....
She wanted this one black and distressed on edges.....
so we sanded it down and I painted it black....
This was the part repaired that was broken....
Both completed and they look awesome!
Duncan Phyfe Dresser Painted and Glazed.....
I received an email from who was to be one
of our new clients and another wonderful person
I've had the pleasure of meeting.
She was here visiting here in Houston for a
couple of days, she traveled from Tennessee where she resides.
She really liked this dresser I had and my work.
So we talked on the phone and relayed messages
back and forth like I do with all my clients.
She had sent me a picture of a similar dresser she liked the color
it was painted. So I tried to match it the closest I could.
She settled on General Finishes Milk Paint color Basil.
Then wanted the Van Dyke Glaze over that.
So here is the before.....
Now, general finishes says to lightly sand, but I like to strip
them down which we did.....repaired
all the missing veneer....
then I primed it all....
painted it all basil.....
she wanted the hardware kept original, which
was a fantastic choice as it really adds to the aged feel....
added the glaze....
All finished! I love the color and glaze together on this
Duncan Phyfe Dresser it makes it looks really old :)
Beautiful!
French Country Cottage Chest....
It's been awhile since I posted. I've been
like really super busy with orders, pick ups, deliveries,
and life. So I will be posting 2 entries today.
Here we go, this was a furnished and custom
painted order for one of my cousins who loves my work.
She wanted this chest custom painted like
another dresser I had done, but with no distress.
So white with cream and dark bronze hardware.
Here is the before....
I sanded it all down and primed everything....
painted the shell all white....
then painted the drawers a cream color.....
then painted the hardware dark bronze....
I actually color matched the cream to Annie
Sloan old ochre....
All completed and looks beautiful!
French Provincial Bedroom Set.......
This was a referral order. A client of ours that
contacted us last summer in 2014 wanted us to paint
her french provincial dresser teal and gold.
(You can search for that post in my blog)
She referred us to her friends who had a french set
that wanted theirs painted also. Plus, they wanted a
pedestal table bottom and chair repaired, that
will be in the next post.
Here is the set below....
They wanted a slight cream color with
newly refinished tops...
Then slight distress on edges with handles
kept original.
So we sanded all of them down....
I stained the tops with the color she picked
plus, added polycrylic to them....
I just really love our smooth finish....
I primed and then painted it the cream color....
Distressed all edges....
I love our smooth finish!!!
We work really hard and long to achieve that....
This is why I tell my clients I take at least
minimum 1 week on my orders
depending on how big the order is...
It takes some time to get this smooth flat look....
ALOT of hard work.....
I just love how much our clients appreciate
our work to refer us to their
friends....
that really means a lot :)
As always, they came out just beautiful!!!!
A big thanks to Crystal for her referral
and thanks to Jamie & Ashley for having us
custom paint their dresser set.
Hollywood Regency Painted Navy Blue.....
This was a furnished and custom painted

and wanted it to blend in
with her newly decorated living room area.

Then she wanted silver hardware to match her
silver pieces in her living room area also.
Here is the before....
We sanded it down and repaired the front missing veneer...
Primed it and painted it navy blue with multiple coats....
painted the hardware silver and it looks beautiful
with the navy...

All finished and looking so gorgeous!!!!
