French Provincial in Stained French Linen...
I love how beautiful this french dresser is.
The hardware is amazing. Very sturdy and thick
with beautiful detail. The style is has clean lines.
Not too curvy.
Before below.
It did need some repair on some scratches
in some areas.
I painted it in annie sloan french linen.
With some rubbed distress very lightly on
edges.
Sealed the body in a matte wax.
I polished the handles and hardware very little.
I wanted to show some original natural patina.
Look at that hardware though?!
It has 8 drawers total.
I wanted to original wood in the design.
But was not feeling the stained top look
on this particular one.
I decided to stain refinish the middle area.
I stained it in dark walnut. Then sealed
that part in a flat poly.

Aubusson Blue Buffet Cabinet...
I love this buffet cabinet! It's so beautiful!!
Here is the before below. It has knocker pulls but most where
broken off.
So we improvised. I wanted to keep the
back plate and original knobs on the
top drawers.
I painted it in Annie Sloan Aubusson Blue.
Distressed and antiqued.
I wanted the cabinet door hardware to look
like a doorknob.
For the back plate we cut off the pull
for the knocker and made a new hole.
I got those beautiful big knobs at hobby lobby.
Painted the hardware in dark bronze.
Smooth finish.
Priced at $425

Graphite Painted Piano.....
A client contacted me and wanted
her piano painted. It was very heavy so this was a
custom job I had to do onsite in her home.
Here is the before below. The top veneer had come off
from wear and age.
John repaired that part.
I painted the rest. She wanted a color that would stand out
in her home. She already had a lot of grays in her home.
I suggested a distressed graphite with black wax finish.
I used Annie Sloan products.
Here is the graphite with no waxes below.
This is while I was distressing it.
On this picture below, the left is graphite without any
waxes. The right is with just black wax.
I love both!
Here it is all complete after the black wax and distressing.
Then here it is in the spot where it's going to be.
She's still deciding on location of the piano in
her home.
It came out beautiful!
Duck Egg Blue French Dresser...
Past client contacted me and wanted a french
dresser for her daughter. I had this one in my workshop
for a few months.
She loved it and picked annie sloan
duck egg blue with a distressed finish.
Before below.
Was spray painted from previous owner.
Wasn't stripped either before as you can
see the scratch marks I made to see
how I was going to strip it.
We stripped it all and made new holes
for the hardware I had in my inventory.
This one didn't come with french hardware.
Painted it.
Distressed edges only.
Painted the new hardware.
Oh my gosh it came out so beautiful!
I love it! When we delivered it her little girl
was saying "it's so pretty, thank you!"
French Linen Desk/Dresser....
Referral client had this really beautiful desk/dresser
piece. She picked french linen from annie sloan.
Here is the before below.
Took it all apart to get a good clean finish.
I antiqued and distressed it.
I also added some new knobs to update it.
Painted the side drawers also.
Painted everything on the inside.
She really liked how it came out and it
went really well in her home.
Antiqued Old White Dining Set, Buffet, Hutch...
Client who we did the previous post for which
was the navy french dresser/nightstand set,
wanted us to do her antique
dining set also.
Before photos below.
Glass hutch.
Small side buffet.
Top of buffet was damaged.
All 6 chairs.
Stripped the top side buffet.
Stripped the 3 leaves for the table.
Stripped table top.
She wanted the leaves and table refinished because it
had water rings/stains.
She wanted my opinions on some designs for the look.
She knew she wanted the annie sloan
old white antiqued look I've done before.
She fell in love with the antique set we
had previously done for her friend (our previous client).
Which was the old white antiqued look.
But, she was on a budget from Harvey.
She intentionally wanted everything refinished
and stained. Although, we don't do that anymore
and it would be very expensive.
I suggested painting only the outside of the glass hutch
and cleaning up/sealing the inside.
Then, I suggested we paint the whole
side buffet to bring in more
of the old white look.
We refinished the table top/leaves though as they where
rough looking.
Sealed them all with 5 coats of sealer.
All three leaves refinished and looking beautiful.
Chairs we cleaned up and sealed them all.
Keeping more of the wood
in the mix instead of painting the chairs
would really bring everything together.
Especially for the design of the pieces.
She provided her new fabric and we upholstered
them all.
She was very pleased with the outcome!
I was too.
Bedroom Set Updated In Layered Look....
Client was referred to us by someone who seen our
work online. These where clients own pieces.
The possibilities are endless in how your
furniture can be updated. For the past 4 years most of
our client custom painted orders
have been their own pieces that they've had
for years.
Here are the before pictures below.
She wanted a layered look.
I used Annie Sloan chalk paint for this look.
They came out absolutely amazing!
So beautiful! We also freshen up her antique
iron bed in an all white. I'll be adding those pictures once I
get a good picture tomorrow before we deliver.
French Linen Dresser & Armiore...
New client contacted me on Facebook last
June 2017. She followed me for awhile
after that waiting for the right pieces I had
coming in. As I get inventory in often.
Sometimes I have time to list and sometimes I don't.
I got this french set in made by Link Taylor
It was a dresser, chest, and nightstand set.
The nightstand set sold as is, and I still have the chest.
She wanted only the dresser. (that picture is far below scroll down)
Then I got these french armories in made by
white fine furniture. She immediately
contacted me and said she wanted one.
She resides in Belton, Tx and asked if we could deliver there.
I said of course, I have clients in Austin
and it would be $125 to deliver to her area.
Here it is below.
She had first wanted a off white in
sherwin williams alabastera, then sage color,
then black, and finally she decided on
annie sloan french linen. Which I told her was
a very beautiful color.
One of my clients had picked that color
in December for some side dressers, then
I painted a dresser in it to put up for sale
(that has been sold already).
Here they are painted and sealed in a
flat finish.
She wanted to keep the fabric & hardware original.
Excellent choice.
She wanted minimal distressing.
I chose to paint the inside drawers and
side cabinets next to the middle drawers.
You would see the original wood if
I didn't and I knew that wouldn't look right.
I asked first and she said whatever I thought
was best. I'm glad i did.
Here's the before on the link taylor dresser.
She loved them so much and was so excited!
Here they are in her home after we delivered them to her.
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Graphite Mid Century Desk, Updated Nightstand...
Client purchased this mcm dresser below from us
that I had painted in my own design and put up for sale.
Then she picked this mcm desk/chair set from
my inventory and wanted me to paint
it in the similar design I had done the dresser.
Before below.
She wanted a nightstand I didn't have one,
so she found one on her own.
Picture of before below.
Desk/chair sanded.
I suggested I paint stain the top drawers
and all of the chair.
Then paint the rest in the annie sloan graphite.
Hardware painted gold.
I showed her some mcm knobs I had in my inventory to
replace the floral hardware on the nightstand.
She loved the idea, so we replaced them.
Looks totally different.
She suggested we stain just the top
drawer and the sides.
I also told her I had some gray velvet fabric we could add
to the chair that matched the color graphite very well.
She was like "Your killing me, your so awesome!!"
All sealed in a water base sealer.
Here they are in her daughters room.
Wow right?!
Love this look!
French Linen Mediterranean Dresser....
Couldn't wait to get my hands on this one.
Loved the detail on it, but since there was
so much detail I went with a clean look.
I used a soft neutral color also.
Here is the before below.
I decided on french linen from annie sloan
chalk paint. I used it on a clients order
(post right before this one).
Feel in love with the color.
It's a soft gray color....
I think it's a true gray with no blue undertones.
Maybe some brown but I'd rather
take brown than blue undertones.
Especially for this dresser.
I didn't antique or distress it, I didn't think it
would mesh well with the details already on it.
Left hardware original.
I'm in love...but when am I not!
All in a no brush stroke finish.
Very smooth and sealed in a flat water based sealer.
AVAILABLE FOR SALE!
Message if interested.
French Linen Half Dressers Set.....
Second half of the order for one of our clients. The other part was the
italian provincial set in previous post.
This is she will be using as nightstands.
The one below she picked from our inventory.
The second on was hers.
Before pictures below.
They both needed major veneer repair as
they're old like really old.
Inside where the drawers sat needed to be
rebuilt on some so the drawers could go in
and out easier.
We repaired everything cosmetic and structural.
Stripped down everything.
She sent me this pictured she found online and wanted me to
do them both in this look.
I used annie sloan french linen and went to work on the
details.
Antiqued and gold detailed in some areas.
Painted the hardware also.
Distressed areas.
My no brush stroke finish of course.
Love showing my close ups with the light shining on it.
We're both in love with them!
Early Mcm Graphite Dresser...
I found this early mcm dresser with severe veneer damage.
Repaired it all to make smooth and sanded it all down.
Painted it graphite in annie sloan chalk paint.
Loved the hardware so painted it gold.
Refinished the top drawers.
Then sealed everything a in flat water based sealer.
Had it for sale but a new client who is a follower
on my facebook took it immediately.
I love this look 💖😍
Graphite Buffet....
New client found me on Facebook. She wanted to know if I had
any buffets in my inventory. I did this one below.
She asked if i could paint it like the one
shown below on the right .
I said yes and it looked like
annie sloan graphite with no dark wax.
She asked if it would have any brush strokes or thick
paint strokes. I said no, have you seen my blog?
I gave her the link to my blog plus showed her my close up pictures.
Supposedly, she purchased a few pieces from some
(I'd rather not name) furniture consignment places where
people sell their painted pieces at. Two different places here in the Houston area.
Houston is a rather big city, so we have lots of different small
areas called Humble, Atascosita, Kingwood, Crosby, Katy, Deer Park, Rosenberg,
Pearland, Fresno, Magnolia, Tomball, Richmond, and so on.
She said that the pieces where heavy brush strokes one way more than the other.
I told her no with my finish you DO NOT see any brush strokes
or the finish isn't thick, clumpy, sticky, doesn't peel or chip.
So, she came and put down her deposit and seen some of my work there.
She was lucky I had pieces to show usually I don't.
They go pretty quick.
Then again she seen my blog as you are doing now 😏
Painted the buffet in graphite by annie sloan chalk paint.
I refinished the top in dark walnut.
Added new hardware to make it all look complete.
She wanted to keep the mirror old looking.
I thought it looked nice and showed the age.
Refinished the inside some.
Then sealed it all in a flat water based finish.
Here it is! Love!!
She did also, when we delivered it she ran her hand over it
and said "Oh my so smooth and beautiful! No wonder your
booked for months & clients keep coming back to you!"
Love to hear how happy people are with our finish 💖
By the way I asked if I could see those pieces she had gotten before
from those other places here in the Houston area...
WOW! she was't lying. She had purchased online and didn't go see
it in person nor did they have close up pictures of it online.
But, then again some people like the brush stroke finishes,
not sure on the thick caked up finishes though 😕
Now, I understand some who paint pieces for themselves to put in
their home to save money, but to sell them for hundreds? I couldn't do that.
But, that's just me.
Grey Dresser & Nightstand Set....
I painted this old dresser and nightstand set in a
chalk painted finish. The color is a custom mix made from
annie sloan chalk paint. Applied in a smooth thin no
brush stroke finish.
Here are the before pictures below.
I repaired the dresser drawer slides and the sides
of the dresser as it was splitting.
Nightstand top had to be stripped. The handle was missing on
one of the drawers. So I replaced it with some
vintage duncan phyfe handles I had.
I kept all the hardware original on the dresser.
I searched thru my hardware inventory to
find the same color of the hardware on the dresser.
Distressed edges only.
In love. Would look beautiful in a nursery or any room
where space is a problem.
Currently available. Message for info.
Navy Antique Buffet Antiqued....
I had this old antique buffet in my inventory for
sometime and didn't list it. I wanted to paint it in my own style
and put it up for sale. Since I had some spare time while
John was stripping custom orders so I can paint
them, I painted this one.
Here is the before below.
I added some vintage hardware I had in my inventory.
Painted it in a custom mix navy blue with annie sloan
chalk paint.
Distressed edges and antiqued it. Kept the vintage hardware
I had put on in its original color.
I refinished the bottom front legs.
Cleaned up the inside cabinet area and waxed it.
Smooth no brush stroke finish.
Extremely happy with the outcome 😊💖👍
Currently available for sale, if interested
message for more info.
Buffet & China Cabinet in Dark Navy.....
New client contacted me thru my blog and wanted me
to custom paint her antique buffet & china cabinet (hutch).
She viewed my blog for a bit and picked the custom navy
blue with antiquing I've done with Annie Sloan.
I custom mixed the color (sometimes I don't quite remember the
exact measurements so I have play with it).
Before picture of the buffet below.
After I custom painted it and antiqued it (no distressing)
pictures below.
Smooth thin finish.
I kept the hardware original. She left that up to me.
She just wanted me to do what I do basically.
Said she loved my work and trusted my artistry.
She wanted the inside painted.
I just love this look!
Next, was the hutch.
Before pictures below.
Same color and finish as the buffet above.
She wanted everything painted, so we took
apart everything.
Painted the inside top and bottom parts.
My smooth thin finish.
It takes a whole lot of time, paint, and work
to get these looks I do. I mean lots of work.
The detailing, numerous coats of paint I do
but in the end, I always always always love the outcome.
Plus, the bonus is the clients reaction when they see it 💝
Dark Charcoal Chest Of Drawers...........
This one needed tons of work, I figured it's an old
antique piece so just leave the damaged parts alone.
To show the age of it. Plus, John has been busy stripping
a huge detailed order. So, I just tackled this one myself.
Here is the before below.
I sanded it down, glued the loose veneer back down.
Then I painted it with annie sloan chalk paint
in a custom mixed color I created.
Added new hardware and painted them gold.
Then distressed and antiqued it.
Looks totally different than before.
Available for purchase, message if interested.
